What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God. We believe all Scriptures have been inspired by God, which is to say every author was inspired by God to write every word as appeared in the original manuscripts. Therefore we hold true to its authority and inerrancy, and believe it is designed for practical instruction. (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Romans 16:25-26)

We believe that God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. He eternally exists as three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are one God, sharing the same nature and attributes. Each is equally deserving of our worship, trust, and obedience. (Matthew 3:16-17, John 1:14, 2 Cor. 13:14, Heb. 1:1–3)

We believe God created man and woman in his own image and likeness, and that this premise rationalizes our identity and purpose on earth. We believe all humans were created with inherent value bestowed upon them by God and equally proportioned to everyone. Through the fall of Adam, all of humanity’s relationship with God was interrupted, as we became slaves to sinful desires and subject to the power of the devil. It is only by way of accepting Jesus Christ as one’s Lord and Savior that any one’s personal relationship with the Godhead can be reconciled. (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:18–24, Rom. 1:26–32, John 14:6)

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament. We believe He came into the world to reconcile the relationship between humankind and the Godhead. He was born of a virgin. While on earth He retained His full divine nature and was also fully man. He lived a sinless life. He humbled himself under the will of the Father and voluntarily died on the cross for the sins of the world. After 3 days, He physically rose from the dead and appeared to His disciples. He has since ascended to the right hand of the Father and will return again to gather the saints unto our eternal home and judge the world. He is the Head of the Church and continually intercedes and advocates for Believers before the Father. (Matthew 16:16-17, Luke 1:26-38, Colossians 1:19–23, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 1:3–10, Matthew 27:45-54, Luke 24:36-49, Mark 16:19, Matthew 16:27, Matthew 25:31-46, Revelations 22:20, Romans 8:34)

We believe that, since the fall of Adam brought about the spiritual death of humankind, humans can only enter the eternal kingdom of God if they are reconciled to Him through their faith in the finished work of Christ. This is salvation, and it is only accessible by the grace of God alone, through faith in Jesus Christ alone. To inherit salvation, one must confess and believe that Jesus Christ is their Lord and Savior, which involves repenting from their sins and yielding to a new life led by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 5:12-21, Romans 10:9–10, Romans 8:1–4; 13, Ephesians 2:1–10)

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He is God, and equally deserving of our worship, trust, and obedience as the Father and the Son. While existing eternally, the Holy Spirit was sent to the Church on the day of Pentecost, and has since indwelled all Believers in Christ. The role of the Holy Spirit is, but not limited to, convicting the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, gradually transforming all Believers into more righteous people (regeneration), empowering Believers for God’s work, uniting Believers to Christ, and sealing them with the mark of God for the Day of Judgment. (John 14:15–17, John 16:8-11, Acts 2, 1 Cor. 6:19, John 16:8-11, Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:4–13, Ephesians 1:13-14)

All Believers in Christ around the world make up the Church, which is the body and bride of Christ. We believe that all Believers are united by the same Holy Spirit that dwells within us all, both Jew and Gentile. Having become members of the Church, every Believer has been bestowed upon them the duty to maintain the unity of the Church and contribute to its function by exercising their spiritual gifts with love and truth. (Ephesians 5:25–27, 2 Corinthians 11:2, 1 Cor. 12:1–27, Eph. 1:20–23, Ephesians 4:11–16)
