In a world filled with confusion and haste, many people become fooled by the lies sold to us, but God is not the author of confusion — His plans are greater than we can imagine. The question, “Who am I?”, no longer lends relevance when we discover our identity in Christ, and when we find ourselves trusting and relying on God, He anoints us with His wisdom to guide us through the uncertainties of life. Many may present as knowledgeable, but true, godly, wisdom is hard to come by from man.

Everyone has access to God’s wisdom through the Holy Spirit, but if we remain blinded by our own knowing, we are left vulnerable and in a position to be led astray.

The world says acquire as much wealth as possible, while God says acquire your wealth in Heaven. The world will also say focus on yourself, your job, family, and ambitions, yet God tells us to set our sights on Him who provides all our needs (Philippians 4:19). The saying, “You only live once”, is an admirable lifestyle because many are certain that death is final, but through the coming of Christ, God declares “death as only the beginning” and the start of an eternal with Him.

Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3).

Going by what the world says will rob us of an eternal life with God, in both our earthly existence and life after, but as Christians, we don’t have to be afraid of what lies ahead because we already know what is written in the Word. The scripture talks about the spirit of discernment which means “to understand or know something through the power of God.” It’s a trait that the world lacks, but one that God can provide. There is nothing more mysterious than how God works, and it’s because His wisdom surpasses all human understanding. Even as believers, we will never fully make sense of God’s ways, but whoever dedicates themselves to Christ receives sanctification and the blessing of experiencing His full holiness.

“When the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” – (John 16:13)

Jesus makes it abundantly clear that we are at an advantage because we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. Think of His disciples. Very often, they had moments in which they felt fearful or uncertain about themselves being able to do the same works that Jesus did. Yet, Jesus knew that the Holy Spirit would guide them in truth, and through their belief, we see them able to minister, heal, and set free demon-afflicted people just as Jesus did throughout the Bible.

Don’t you know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?

(1 Corinthian 3:16)

The Holy Spirit is a divine covering that protects us from being led astray and down weary paths. One of the first things you’ll notice in your Christian walk with God is a restored peace of mind. When faced with any pressure, there is still a greater sense of calm because God is doing the work to remove your anxiousness, uncertainty, and fears. When we are able to connect God with peace, we are now beginning to truly understand what the Holy Spirit is.

Please, pray this prayer if you desire to share in God’s wisdom, “Heavenly Father, teach me to do your will, for you are my God: may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” (Psalm 143:10) Know that God will send His Spirit upon you and reveal all the things that you’re seeking about Him. It is a blessing to be in union with Christ, who is our refuge, the God of peace, and all-knowing truth.
